Abstracting & Indexing

All published articles are assigned to Digital Object Identifier (DOI). All articles are permanently archived and available in PDF format on an online basis.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to the HARIJ are peer-reviewed according to the following procedure:

Initial review: The Editor-in-Chief assesses each paper to see if its subject and content are appropriate for the HARIJ to consider. Within a week of receipt, manuscripts that don't fit the basic requirements are sent back to the author for modification. The authors will benefit from this since they can choose to fix the issues or avoid the delays caused by a drawn-out review procedure that would still result in rejection.

Peer review: After passing the first review, manuscripts are given to an Associate Editor, who chooses several reviewers based on their experience level in that area. Every manuscript undergoes a double-blind peer review procedure with at least two referees; the authors and referees are kept anonymous. Referees are requested to assess the manuscript based on its uniqueness, methodological soundness, influence on design research, and applicability to design practices. Referees are asked to finish their reviews within fifteen (15) days to expedite timely publication. The Associate Editor suggests to the Editor-in-Chief that the manuscript be accepted after compiling the reviewers' reports.

Recommendation: The Editor-in-Chief decides whether the manuscript is acceptable based on the referees' feedback and the Associate Editor's suggestion. The decision is shared with the authors together with the referees' reports. The options for the final judgment are "Accept Submission," "Revisions Required," "Resubmit for Review," "Resubmit Elsewhere," and "Decline Submission." After the decision, a revised document must be resubmitted within a month. Usually, it is sent back to the original referees for assessment.

HARIJ is a peer-reviewed journal published two Issues per year (June and December) by Helmand University, Head of Research Centre and Journals. It is available online as an access source and in print. Ethical Guideline for Journal Publication

One of the most important steps in creating a reputable and cohesive knowledge network is publishing an article in HARIJ. The caliber of the authors' work and the organizations assisting them are clearly reflected in it. The scientific methodologies are embodied and supported by peer-reviewed literature. Therefore, it is critical that everyone participating in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, publishers, and society at large—agree on standards of anticipated ethical behavior. The publisher of HARIJ is aware of its ethical and other obligations since it takes seriously its guardianship responsibilities throughout the publishing process. Helmand University is dedicated to ensuring that editorial choices are not influenced by or affected by advertising, reprints, or other commercial money.

Publication Decisions

The journal's editors select which articles submitted to HARIJ should be published. Such choices must always be based on the work's legitimacy and significance to readers and researchers. The journal's editorial board's regulations and any applicable laws on plagiarism, copyright violations, and libel may serve as guidelines for the editors. When making judgments, the editors might consult with other editors or reviewers.

Plagiarism Screening

In essence, it is the author's responsibility to submit only work that is free of academic misconduct and plagiarism. However, the editor reviews each article twice before it is published. The first stage is to check offline databases for plagiarism, followed by checking internet databases as much as feasible.

Fair Play

Regardless of the author's race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy, an editor reviews submissions for their intellectual merit at any point in time.

Confidentiality

If applicable, the corresponding author, reviewers, prospective reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher are the only people to whom editors and editorial staff may divulge information regarding a submitted manuscript.
